Sony enters phablet market with Xperia Z Ultra

Today at the Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai, Sony unveiled the Xperia Z Ultra.
With a 6.4" display this is the largest phone is Sony portfolio. It is a full HD (1080p) TRILUMINOS® Display powered by X-Reality™ for mobile picture engine.

Under the hood of the Z Ultra is Qualcomm's highend Snapdragon 800 Quadcore SoC clocked at 2.2GHz.

Like Sony's other high end devices, the Z Ultra comes with a water and dust proof ratings: IP55 and IP58.

Other unique features include the fact that the screen has handwriting recognition and is compatible with not only capacitive pens but also pencils and any metal pen with a diameter over 1mm.
All of this is packed into a shell that is only 6.5mm thick and weighing in at 212 grams. The body is made of tempered glass surrounding a metal frame. So the device should look and feel like a premium product unlike the mostly plastic offerings from some other manufacturers(not calling any names, but I am sure they can easily be guessed). The unit will come in black, white and purple.
